Only start scoring a fixture if you are actually there watching it. One person scores a game at a time, so claiming it means nobody else can until you are finished. Taking a fixture you cannot see stops the score updating for everyone following it.

You do not need permission. Anyone following either team who was at the game can correct a score. A correction is not an argument: put in what the score actually is, and move on.

Every score, correction and confirmation is recorded and none of it is ever deleted. A correction does not overwrite what came before, it is added after it, so the full history of a fixture stays visible: what was reported, what changed, and when.

We do not show your name against any of it. A score reads as reported by someone at the game, and the number of people who confirmed it is shown instead. Most of the sport here is played by children, and a first name next to a school and an age group identifies a person far more easily than it looks. The count is what tells you whether to trust a score. A name never was.

Your account is still attached to what you do, on our side. It is simply not put on display.

Add real schools, clubs, teams and fixtures. Not joke entries, not test data left behind, not a team that does not play. Anything you add is there for everyone who comes looking afterwards, so a made-up entry wastes other people's time rather than your own.

Most of what is here is school sport, and much of it involves minors. Scoreboard Live has no comments, no messaging and no player profiles, and shows no names against reported scores. That is a deliberate choice, not a gap. Do not use the fields that do accept text, such as a team or fixture name, to say anything about an individual child.

Adding your school does not make you its representative. Scoreboard Live is independent and is not run or endorsed by any school, university, club, union or league. Do not present yourself, or an entry you have created, as official.

Most of it corrects itself, without anyone having to step in:

• A wrong score is fixed by the next person who was there. That is the main protection and it needs nobody's permission. The more people following a team, the faster it happens.
• Nothing is deleted. Score reports are permanent by design. A correction is added after the original, never in place of it, so the full history stays visible.
• Every entry is on the record, so a pattern of bad reporting is visible to us even though no name is shown to anybody else.

Where that is not enough:

• Report it. Get in touch and tell us which fixture or team it concerns and what is wrong, because we cannot find it from a description alone. A real person reads it.
• An account can be suspended. Persistent false reporting, or filling the place with entries that do not exist, can cost you access. Suspension blocks signing in. It does not remove what was already reported, because nothing here is ever removed.

It is not an official record and does not claim to be. It tells you where a number came from and how many people at the game are standing behind it. That is more than a score usually comes with. It is not the same as a result confirmed by a governing body.
